Declaring assets of a person introduced as a candidate for National Assembly

The Government Inspectorate is assigned to preside over and coordinate with agencies to guide the declaration of assets to candidates for National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh has just signed Directive No. 28/CT-TTg dated September 18, 2025 on organizing the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

According to the directive, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

The Prime Minister directs the Ministry of Home Affairs as a standing agency, responsible for advising and assisting the Government and the Prime Minister in directing ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government, and People's Committees at all levels to carry out election work in accordance with the provisions of law and assigned by the National Election Council.

The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions is responsible for determining the administrative unit of a commune in a mountainous area, the Ministry of Home Affairs is responsible for determining the administrative unit of a commune on an island to serve as a basis for determining the number of commune People's Council delegates elected for the 2026-2031 term.

The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Construction, and the Ministry of Science and Technology, according to their assigned tasks and powers, to develop specific plans and solutions to ensure order, traffic safety and smooth communication during the election preparation and organization process; especially before, during and after the election day.

The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security, according to their assigned tasks and powers, shall develop plans and solutions to deploy forces to ensure political security and social order and safety throughout the preparation and organization of the election; direct and guide military and police forces participating in the election.

The Ministry of Public Security shall preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to prevent cyber attacks, ensure network security, protect information systems for elections, prevent and promptly handle acts of spreading false information that affect the election.

The Ministry of Public Security provides population data to the National Election Council and the Ministry of Home Affairs; directs the Public Security of provinces and cities to provide local population data to the Standing Committees of People's Councils, People's Committees, and Election Committees at all levels to serve the synthesis and statistics of population data and voter lists for each provincial and commune-level administrative unit.

The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Finance to balance and allocate funds in a timely manner for central and local agencies to carry out election work.

The Government Inspectorate shall preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to guide the declaration of assets for those recommended to run for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels under the direction of the National Election Council and the National Assembly Standing Committee.

Preside over or coordinate with ministries, branches and localities to focus on promptly and legally resolving citizens' complaints and denunciations before, during and after the election.

The Prime Minister also requested proactive implementation and ensuring progress in preparation for the election; the work of consulting to select and introduce candidates for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels.
