The investment project to renovate and expand 5 intersections in the inner city of the old Ninh Kieu district - now in Ninh Kieu, Tan An and Cai Khe wards has a total investment of more than 1,196 billion VND. Of which, the first two priority intersections are Mau Than - 3/2 - Tran Hung Dao and Nguyen Van Linh - 3/2.

However, after half a year since the groundbreaking date, the project is still almost "stuck on site". The construction progress is slow due to problems in site handover.
According to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper at intersection No. 1 (Mau Than - 3/2 - Tran Hung Dao), the contractor has only been able to construct the manhole cover in the camp area. Most of the site has not been handed over, causing the project to be unfinished, overgrown with grass, and spoiling the aesthetics. Currently, the progress is only at 1% of the contract value.

Mr. Le Thanh Duy, the construction unit, said that the unit has only received a small part of the site. Due to the lack of new site, it is impossible to gather equipment, and workers have to temporarily stop construction.
At the intersection No. 4 (Nguyen Van Linh - 3/2), after a part of the area was handed over, the contractor constructed a drainage system but then had to stop. The reason is that there is still a problem with the underground system, medium-voltage power, trees and lighting that have not been relocated... And have now reached 5% of the contract value.

Mr. Le Van Toan, the construction unit of intersection No. 4, said: We cannot continue to construct the infrastructure when the technical systems have not been handled.
To speed up the progress, local authorities are making efforts to coordinate with relevant units to remove difficulties.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh - Vice Chairman of Ninh Kieu Ward People's Committee (Can Tho City) said that he has increased propaganda and mobilized people to hand over land, and at the same time, recommended that the city have appropriate support policies. In addition, Tan An ward is also speeding up the dossier to soon hand over the site at intersection No. 4.
According to Mr. Tran Ngoc Thai - Deputy Director of the Ninh Kieu Project Management Board (Can Tho City), the delay in handing over the site not only affects the two intersections under construction, but also slows down the entire project. Therefore, he requested that relevant units and ward authorities promptly support site clearance to hand over to the contractor for continued construction.
The 5 renovated intersections include: intersection No. 1 (Mau Than - 3 February - Tran Hung Dao); intersection No. 2 (Mau Than - Nguyen Van Cu - Vo Van Kiet); intersection No. 3 (Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Van Cu); intersection No. 4 (Nguyen Van Linh - 3 February) and intersection No. 5 (Nguyen Van Linh - 30/4).
