The tooth turtle individual has the scientific name: Heosemys annandalii, also known as golden lotus turtle.
This is a species belonging to group IIB of endangered, precious and rare forest animals and is strictly protected by Vietnamese law.

Previously, on August 24, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong (residing in Tan Vinh residential group, Luong Son commune) discovered a stray turtle, so he proactively rescued it and voluntarily handed it over.
Through inspection, the turtle has characteristic identification characteristics: gray head with black-yellow spots, yellow jaw, beak forming two pointed spurs like teeth.
The release process was supervised by representatives of Luong Son Commune People's Committee, Forest Protection Department, Mobile Forest Protection & Fire Prevention Team of Area II, Commune Police and representatives of the forest owner.
Functional forces request the management unit to continue monitoring and strengthen patrols to protect turtle individuals and prevent hunting and encroachment.
The activity contributes to raising awareness of biodiversity conservation in the local community.
