Thai Nguyen Department of Education and Training has just issued a document announcing the 3rd exam subject for 10th grade in the 2026 - 2027 school year as English.
The exam is in the form of objective multiple-choice, the exam time is 60 minutes. Many exam codes in one exam room ensure the principle that 2 adjacent candidates do not overlap exam codes.
Candidates take the exam on multiple-choice answer sheets; the exam paper is graded using computer software.
The Department of Education and Training requests the People's Committees of communes/wards and high schools to notify the above content to educational institutions, parents, and students.
In the 2025 - 2026 school year, Thai Nguyen (old) and Bac Kan (old) students will also take the 3rd subject for 10th grade, which is English.
To date, 19 provinces and cities have announced the 3rd exam subject for 10th grade in the 2026 - 2027 school year. Most localities choose the third exam subject as English, only Tuyen Quang takes the Natural Sciences exam.
According to regulations, the third exam subject must be announced before March 31 every year to ensure fairness and help students be proactive in reviewing.
