On February 3, information from Thai Nguyen Provincial Police said that during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, the authorities detected and handled 1,648 traffic violations, temporarily impounding hundreds of motorbikes and cars.
Of these, 661 were violations of alcohol concentration; 767 were speeding; 4 were overloading, oversizing, and extending the side of the vehicle; 1 case of running a red light and illegally avoiding passing; 37 cases of stopping and parking in violation of regulations; and 127 other violations. The estimated fine is over 6 billion VND.
During this year's Tet holiday, alcohol concentration violations in Thai Nguyen decreased by 118 cases compared to last year.
Authorities recommend that people raise their awareness of traffic participation, especially not driving after drinking alcohol to ensure safety for themselves and the community.
