On February 19, information from Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that, according to statistics, on the 2nd day of Tet, functional forces discovered and handled 145 cases of alcohol concentration violations.

This figure shows that the situation of violations is still complicated during the Tet holiday, posing a risk of traffic unsafety on roads.
To control and reduce traffic accidents, Thanh Hoa traffic police force has proactively built and implemented a peak patrol and control plan, resolutely handling violations of alcohol concentration with the spirit of "if you have drunk alcohol, don't drive".
On the 2nd day of Tet, the traffic police force deployed 52 working groups with 152 officers and soldiers, coordinating with the police of 21 communes and wards to inspect national highways, provincial roads and densely populated central areas.
Task forces are deployed on many key routes, strengthening inspections both day and night, focusing on peak hours, restaurant areas, eateries, and entertainment spots.
With the viewpoint of handling without forbidden zones, without exceptions, all violations are recorded and fined according to regulations. Through inspection, the police force discovered and recorded 145 cases of alcohol concentration violations. Most violators are motorbike and motorcycle drivers; a few cases are car drivers.
In addition to alcohol concentration violations, Thanh Hoa traffic police also detected and handled many other violations such as speeding, not wearing helmets, carrying more people than prescribed, going in the wrong lane. These are direct causes of traffic accidents, especially during the Tet holiday when vehicle density increases.
