In the early afternoon of February 19, Tuyen Binh Commune People's Committee (Quang Tri province) informed about the boat capsizing incident that occurred on the Gianh River, passing through the commune.
According to initial information, at about 11:30 am on the same day, the family of Mr. N.V.T (born in 1958, residing in Tan Hoa village, Tuyen Binh commune) including 7 people, including 3 adults and 4 young children, traveling by small boat on the Gianh River unfortunately encountered an accident.
Discovering the incident, people near the area quickly organized rescue, bringing 4 people ashore. Among these, 1 baby girl fell into critical condition and died later.
Mr. N.V.T and a granddaughter are currently missing. Mr. T's wife, Ms. C.T. N, was brought ashore but died.

Immediately after receiving the news, Tuyen Binh commune authorities mobilized forces to coordinate with people to organize the search for missing victims on the Gianh River. Rescue work is being urgently deployed.
The case is being further verified and clarified by functional agencies.
