On the morning of June 10, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of the People's Committee of Trung Chai Commune, Sa Pa Town said: At around 3:30 a.m. the same day, the local government received a report that a young man had committed suicide by jumping off Mong Sen Bridge.
Searching under the bridge, the authorities discovered a person dead.
Initial verification shows that the victim is Le Duc Khai (born in 2006, residing in Trung Do village, Bao Nhai commune, Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province). On the bridge, there is also a motorbike with license plate: 24HB - 147.80

Immediately afterwards, the police proceeded to protect the scene and collect related information to clarify the incident.
Started in early 2020, Mong Sen Bridge is an over-the-road bridge (not across the river) under the project connecting Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway to Sa Pa town, aiming to reduce traffic pressure on the main artery of National Highway 4D.
With the head piers of Mong Sen Bridge 83m high from the ground, to date Mong Sen Bridge is the highest suspension bridge in Vietnam.
Previously, on May 29 and June 30, 2024, February 5, 2025, the authorities also recorded 3 cases of suicide by jumping off Mong Sen Bridge.
