In mid-May 2026, on National Highway 46 section passing through Kim Lien, Dai Hue and Van An communes, many items of the road renovation and expansion project are under construction.
Reality on the route shows that many locations have been excavated, widened the roadbed, constructed longitudinal ditches, drainage systems and material gathering. However, in some areas, due to waiting for the relocation of technical infrastructure, construction cannot be implemented continuously, affecting the daily life, business and travel of people on both sides of the road.
The project has a total length of about 10.69km, a total investment of 500 billion VND, started on March 15, 2025, and is expected to be completed in 2025. However, to date, the project is still under construction.
Regarding site clearance, the total area recovered for the project is 5.08ha, involving 997 households. To date, localities have organized the handover of the entire length of the route, reaching 10.69/10.69km. However, there are still some shortcomings within the handed-over area.
Currently, the entire route has been constructed for about 8.94km; about 1.75km is still unable to be constructed due to obstacles in medium and low voltage power lines and waterway systems. Representatives of Hoa Hiep Co., Ltd. - the project construction contractor - said that the main obstacles currently are still site clearance and technical infrastructure works that have not been completely resolved.
Before the urgent requirement for progress, localities and related units are being asked to focus highly on removing the remaining obstacles. According to the progress requirement, the section from the beginning of the route to Que Noi intersection, from Km21+760 to Km27+360, about 5.6km long, is aimed at asphalt concrete paving before May 19, 2026. However, the paved volume has only reached about 1.5km, the remaining part is still affected by infrastructure and weather obstacles. To achieve the set goal, stronger coordination from all parties is needed.
Recently, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Hoang Phu Hien inspected the site and requested relevant units to focus on removing difficulties and accelerating the project construction progress. Provincial leaders requested to focus on completing the construction of items that have clean ground and no longer have technical infrastructure obstacles; after localities basically complete the ground, they must organize construction, striving to complete the 1st layer of asphalt concrete on the entire route in June 2026 and complete the entire project in July 2026.
