On the afternoon of January 10, on National Highway 46 (section near Vac market, Kim Lien commune, Nghe An province), a serious traffic accident occurred between a truck and a motorbike, killing 2 people on the spot and injuring 1 person.
According to initial information, at the time of the accident, a motorbike driven by a man, carrying 2 grandmothers and grandchildren behind, was traveling in the direction of Thanh Chuong to Vinh City (old). When it reached the above area, it suddenly collided strongly with a truck, causing the motorbike to fall to the road.
The collision caused the truck's wheels to run over him, causing the two grandmothers and grandchildren sitting behind to die on the spot. The man driving the motorbike was injured and taken to the emergency room by people in a state of panic, not clearly remembering the information about his hometown. At the scene, many people could not help but be shocked to witness the grandmother still hugging her young grandchild tightly in her arms.
It is known that the section of national highway where the accident occurred is under construction for upgrading and repair belonging to the project to renovate National Highway 46 (section passing through Nam Giang commune, old Nam Dan district). Local people reflected that the construction is prolonged, unfinished, posing a risk of traffic unsafety, greatly affecting people's travel.
Currently, professional departments of Nghe An Provincial Police are continuing to investigate and clarify the cause of the accident.
