In recent days, information about An Giang province preparing to organize a seminar to collect information and determine the location of martyrs' graves in the Tram Du area (Tram 800 Forest) has received the attention of many organizations and individuals, especially veterans, historical witnesses and people who used to live and fight in the area.
Many related information and documents have been transferred to functional agencies. There are sources of information associated with the memories of people directly participating in combat, there is information about the location where soldiers sacrificed, the initial burial area, previous terrain characteristics and changes in the area over the years.
According to the plan of the An Giang Provincial Military Command, the key area to be surveyed and verified is Tram Du (Tram Forest 800), belonging to Lung Lon hamlet, Kien Binh commune, Kien Luong district and Tam Ngan hamlet, Binh Giang commune, Hon Dat district, Kien Giang province (old) now Lung Lon hamlet, Hoa Dien commune, An Giang province and Tam Ngan hamlet, Binh Giang commune, An Giang province.
One of the notable sources of information provided by engineer Lam Hong Tien, who researched martyr information through US military documents that have been declassified. These documents mention areas suspected of collective graves and are being further verified by functional agencies, compared with the actual site.

According to Colonel Nguyen Viet Thang, Political Commissar of An Giang Provincial Military Command, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 515, the proactive provision of information by many organizations and individuals is contributing to expanding data sources to serve the verification process.
We greatly appreciate the concern and information provision of organizations and individuals, especially veterans, witnesses and people who have lived and fought in the area. There is information that has been valuable for decades, helping functional agencies have more basis for comparison, zoning and determining search locations," Colonel Nguyen Viet Thang said.
Functional agencies hope that those who still preserve documents, diagrams, images or know information related to martyrs who sacrificed in the Tram Du area will continue to provide them to serve the verification work.
For this special task, information after receiving must be verified and compared from many sources before determining the area to organize the search.
