On the afternoon of September 8, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of the People's Committee of Ta Phin Commune, Lao Cai Province confirmed information about the suicide at Mong Sen Bridge.
"As soon as the incident occurred, local authorities and the Commune Police were present at the scene to verify, investigate, and clarify, and will have a report later," said the leader of the People's Committee of Ta Phin commune.
According to the leader, the time of the bridge jump is currently being verified, but it is likely to happen in the morning of the same day (September 8), because the road section through Mong Sen Bridge is eroding and cannot be opened.

It is known that at the scene above the bridge, there is also a motorbike with license plate: 24-AA-026.XX, along with a motorbike insurance named Phung Van H (residing in the old Kim Tan ward, Lao Cai province).
The incident is being clarified by the authorities.
Started in early 2020, Mong Sen Bridge is an over-the-road bridge (not across the river) under the project connecting Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway to Sa Pa town, aiming to reduce traffic pressure on the main artery of National Highway 4D.
With the head piers of Mong Sen Bridge 83m high from the ground, to date Mong Sen Bridge is the highest suspension bridge in Vietnam.
Since its use, the authorities have recorded at least 5 cases of suicide by jumping off Mong Sen Bridge.
