Horrifying traffic jam
The narrow bridge (Bao Loc 2 Bridge) on Bao Loc Pass (Lam Dong) is under construction to upgrade and expand.
Therefore, for more than half a month, traffic through this area has only been traveling in one direction, causing frequent traffic jams on Bao Loc Pass.
The Traffic Police force is regularly on duty to regulate traffic safety.
However, during rush hours, traffic through Bao Loc Pass is still seriously congested for more than 10 km.

In particular, National Highway 20 is traveling from Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City, the traffic volume is increasing.
This situation caused traffic congestion from km 104 (including the location where the narrow bridge is being upgraded) to the People's Committee of Loc Chau commune (Bao Loc city) (about 7 km).
In the opposite direction, from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat, the number of vehicles is smaller but also congested, stretching about 4 km on Bao Loc Pass

On the afternoon of June 8 alone, each vehicle traveling from Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City to cross Bao Loc Pass takes at least 2.5 to 3 hours.
Right at Bao Loc 2 bridge on Bao Loc pass, Madaguoi Traffic Police station under the Traffic Police Department of Lam Dong Provincial Police had to arrange officers and soldiers to wear raincoats on duty to regulate traffic.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep - a bus driver running the Bao Loc - Ho Chi Minh City route said that it usually only takes 25 to 30 minutes to travel through Bao Loc Pass.
However, for more than half a month now, due to traffic jams, Mr. Hiep has had to spend about 2 hours to get through Bao Loc Pass.
Like this afternoon, he departed at 13:20 from Bao Loc, but after 17 o'clock he passed Bao Loc Pass.
According to the Madaguoi Traffic Police Station, for about half a month now, Bao Loc Pass through Bao Loc Bridge has been congested and congested for a long time.

Reasons for project delays
According to the investigation, the project to repair and upgrade the road surface, bridge and retaining wall over Bao Loc 2 bridge (Bao Loc pass) is invested by Road Management Area IV under the Vietnam Road Administration.
The construction unit is the Joint Venture of Sao Viet Construction - Trading - Technology Joint Stock Company - Thang Long Bridge 11 Repair and Repair Joint Stock Company.
According to the construction agreement, this project started construction on November 11, 2024 and was completed on February 9, 2025.
During the construction process, due to many changes and adjustments to the design, the construction progress of the project was delayed according to the initial agreement.
Therefore, the construction unit has sent a document to Road Management Area IV requesting an extension of the construction time of this project.
On May 6, 2025, Road Management Area IV issued Document No. 968 approving the extension of the construction time of Bao Loc 2 bridge to July 10, 2025.
Through discussion, the representative of the construction unit of Bao Loc 2 Bridge said that the unit is making efforts to complete the project and put it into use soon.
However, Bao Loc Pass is a vital pass connecting Lam Dong province with Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast provinces with too much traffic congestion, affecting the construction process.
