Ho Chi Minh City spends VND591 billion to build an intersection between Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway and National Highway 50, helping to increase connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in the South.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a decision on the investment policy for the project to complete the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway intersection and National Highway 50 (Binh Chanh district).

The project will build an intersection at different levels with a total length of about 1,300 m (excluding the intersection in phase 1 of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway project).

According to the plan, Ho Chi Minh City will approve the investment policy in June 2025; by the third quarter of 2025, a feasibility study report will be prepared and approved.

The project will start construction in the fourth quarter of 2025 and be completed between the second quarter and the fourth quarter of 2026.

The Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board) is assigned as the investor. This Committee will preside over and coordinate with relevant departments and branches to implement the project on schedule and according to regulations. At the same time, it is necessary to develop a detailed plan for work, implementation progress, and monthly disbursement plan, ensuring no delays.

The Department of Finance and the Department of Construction are responsible for assessing the legality and implementing the investment policy decision in accordance with current legal regulations.

According to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the complete investment of this intersection will ensure synchronization with the approved plan, complete the cross -section of the whole highway 50.

Not only stopping at National Highway 50, Ho Chi Minh City also plans to build 2 other intersections connecting to the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway.

One of the intersections being studied is the intersection between Rung Sac road (Can Gio district) and Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, with a total estimated investment of VND 2,400 billion.

Rung Sac Road is currently a unique route connecting the center of Ho Chi Minh City with Can Gio District and areas bordering Dong Nai Province, but there are many limitations, especially dependence on waterways.

The construction of this intersection is expected to open a new connection direction, promoting the development of tourism and Can Gio ecological urban area. It is expected that the investment policy will be approved in the second quarter of 2025, the project will start construction in 2026 and be completed in 2027.

The third intersection connecting to Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway will be built in the Nguyen Van Tao Street area (Nha Be District).

This intersection and Nguyen Van Linh intersection are part of component project 3 of the North-South axis road upgrade project (Nguyen Huu Tho Street). The total investment capital for these two intersections is about VND 2,441 billion, using the Ho Chi Minh City budget.

The project is planned to start construction at the end of 2025 and will be completed synchronously with the entire North-South axis road project in 2028.
