On October 22, the People's Committee of Binh Phu commune, Vinh Long province, said that it had searched for the body of Mr. K.D (48 years old, residing in Giong Chua hamlet, Binh Phu commune, Vinh Long province) who drowned in the Ba Si river.
Previously, at around 4:00 p.m. on October 20, Mr. D and a few friends were sitting on the shore in Binh Phu commune, Vinh Long province to drink. After drinking for a while, Mr. D swam across the Ba Si River to pick banh can to continue drinking.
When Mr. D had swam a distance to the river, he suddenly sank into the river and went missing.
After receiving the report from Binh Phu Commune Police, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police coordinated with the Vinh Long Province Search and Rescue and Humanitarian Assistance Team to the scene to support the search for Mr. D in the river.
At around 8:00 a.m. on October 22, the police found Mr. D's body about 200 meters from the scene of the incident.
After that, Mr. D's body was brought ashore to be handed over to his family for funeral arrangements.
