According to data from the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue of districts and cities in Thai Nguyen province, the preliminary damage caused by storm No. 3 as of 7:00 a.m. on September 12 was VND608,166 billion, with two fatalities.
The floods forced 25,821 households to evacuate urgently, affected 61 schools, damaged 9,978 hectares of rice and crops; killed 292,696 livestock and poultry; and submerged 795 hectares of fish farms.
In addition, 7 cable hanging poles were broken, 3,300m of wire was broken, 4 transformer stations were damaged, 113 electric poles fell, 138 landslides affected traffic, causing separation and unsafety for people and vehicles.
For flooded areas after the water recedes, there is a very high risk of environmental pollution and disease outbreaks.
To overcome the consequences of storm No. 3, more than 7,000 officers, soldiers and militia were mobilized to support people in responding, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
In addition, local authorities mobilized forces and machinery to coordinate and join hands with people to clean up flooded areas to help people stabilize their lives soon.
According to the Thai Nguyen Province Hydrometeorological Station, at 6:00 a.m. this morning (September 12), the water level of Cau River at Gia Bay Hydrological Station at 6:00 a.m. this morning (September 12) was 2,508 cm; Cha Hydrological Station was 1,088 cm; Nui Coc Lake water level was 4,721 cm.
