At the launch of the support, Mr. Le Hong Phong, Chairman of the Agency's Trade Union, said that in recent days, storm No. 3 and its aftermath have caused severe damage in many northern provinces and cities.
Currently, according to incomplete statistics, there are over 180 dead and missing people; 752 injured people; more than 10,000 houses collapsed, collapsed, had their roofs blown off, or were severely damaged; nearly 150,000 hectares of rice and crops were flooded and destroyed, over 1,000 livestock and aquaculture facilities were destroyed; many traffic routes, schools, medical facilities, and public works were severely damaged, and many residential areas were isolated by floodwaters... Estimated damage is in the tens of thousands of billions of VND.
Before, during and after the storm, the Party, State and Government leaders directed strongly, agencies, units, military and police forces together with the people synchronously deployed many measures to prevent and minimize damage, overcome consequences, take care of health and stabilize the lives of people in localities affected by storm No. 3.
The Chairman of the Agency's Trade Union calls on all cadres, civil servants, and union members of the Agency to promote the nation's tradition of "Helping each other", with affection for compatriots affected by storms and floods, to actively respond and participate in donating at least one day's salary or one day's labor to contribute and support compatriots affected by storms and floods to quickly overcome the consequences of natural disasters and stabilize their lives.
At the program, officials, civil servants and employees of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union donated a total of 15,000,000 VND to support people affected by storms and floods.
