On the morning of November 29, Quang Binh province coordinated with the Institute of Military History to organize a scientific seminar with the theme "Major General Hoang Sam - A staunch communist, talented military commander, an excellent son of Quang Binh homeland".
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Le Ngoc Quang - Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee said that Major General Hoang Sam (1915 - 1969) real name is Tran Van Ky, in his revolutionary life he was also known by another alias Tran Son Hung. Born into a poor farming family in Van Hoa commune (Tuyen Hoa district, Quang Binh province), he participated in revolutionary activities since 1927, when he was only 12 years old.
On December 22, 1944, the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army was established. Comrade Hoang Sam was trusted by leader Ho Chi Minh and appointed as Team Leader. In the first round of general promotions (1948), he was honored to be promoted to Major General.
Mr. Le Ngoc Quang emphasized that Major General Hoang Sam always demonstrated the shining qualities of a revolutionary soldier, a talented commander, a diligent and dedicated cadre, wholeheartedly and wholeheartedly devoting his intelligence and resources to serving the Fatherland, the Army and the people.
The life of Major General Hoang Sam is a shining example for cadres, soldiers, and people of Quang Binh province in particular and the whole country in general to learn from and follow in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
