The Deo Ngang tunnel connecting Quang Tri - Ha Tinh has just been opened, the project is 1 month ahead of schedule, expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

On July 16, the Railway Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction) coordinated with Song Da 10 Joint Stock Company to organize the opening ceremony of Deo Ngang tunnel, an important project connecting the two provinces of Quang Tri and Ha Tinh.

The expanded Deo Ngang Tunnel under the XL-CHQL1-02 Package of the project to upgrade and expand a number of bridges and tunnels on National Highway 1, with a total investment of nearly 220 billion VND, starting from January 13, 2025.

The project is 650m long, the tunnel body is 555m long, 10.5m wide with 2 lanes, designed speed of 80km/h, crossing the Hoanh Son mountain range.

After completion, the route will have a total of 2 tunnels and 4 lanes, contributing to reducing the load on the existing tunnel and improving the traffic capacity of the North - South axis.

According to Song Da Joint Stock Company, the unit has mobilized 130 workers, engineers and more than 40 machines and equipment for construction, 1 month ahead of schedule despite many difficulties in site clearance and geological conditions.

Mr. Mai Xuan Tan - Project Management Director highly appreciated the efforts of the contractor consortium, and at the same time requested to continue focusing resources to complete the remaining items, striving to put the project into operation by the end of 2025.
