On the afternoon of July 10, Song Da 10 Joint Stock Company (under Song Da Corporation) said that these days, the Company is focusing on machinery and human resources to speed up the construction of the Deo Ngang tunnel drilling.
Currently, the unit has drilled a tunnel length of 535m, and will need to drill another 20m to open the tunnel.


The tunnel drilling is carried out simultaneously from the northern part of the tunnel (Ha Tinh area) and the southern part of the tunnel (Quang Tri area).
"We are focusing on speeding up construction progress, striving to drill and clear the tunnel by July 16" - said the unit representative.
Among the projects to upgrade and expand a number of bridges and tunnels on National Highway 1 with a total investment of nearly VND 2,000 billion approved by the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction), the project to build "Deo Ngang tunnel and bridges and roads leading to the tunnel" has a total investment of more than VND 516 billion.
The Deo Ngang road tunnel has been rebuilt with a new tunnel to the west of the current tunnel.

The new Deo Ngang tunnel is 555m long, 10.5m wide, and will be constructed from the end of January 2025. According to the plan, the tunnel will be completed and put into operation in 2025.
When completed, Deo Ngang tunnel will be exploited in parallel with 2 tunnels with a roadbed width of 20.5m, meeting the traffic needs of 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for rudimentary vehicles.
