As of April 8, of the remaining 3 athletes, 2 have been discharged from the hospital and one is in good health, and is expected to be discharged soon.
Talking to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City said that athletes who want to register for the race will register online via the system. There, athletes who want to participate will have to include in the health statistics categories as well as commit to and take responsibility for their health.
In addition, the Organizing Committee of the race has purchased liability insurance for athletes. The deceased patient was Ms. N.T.P. (born in 1972, residing in Hue City). While participating in the race, Ms. P suffered a stroke and was then transferred to Hue Central Hospital for emergency treatment. Patient P was admitted to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest. Doctors allowed the patient to use a ventilator through the endotracheal tube, but the condition showed no signs of recovery, so the family asked to take him home and he died later.
