As the Lao Dong newspaper informed, during the exploitation, muddy wastewater from Na Ve sand beach, Thanh Thinh commune (Cho Moi, Bac Kan) flowed straight into Cau River, potentially at risk of environmental pollution.
Immediately after the reflection, the authorities of Bac Kan province conducted inspections and records for the sand mine.
Information from the People's Committee of Thanh Thinh Commune, the cause of the wastewater from Cat Na beach, flows into Cau River due to the damaged sedimentation tank after typhoon No. 3.

The local government later asked the exploitation unit to urgently overcome the incident, ensuring not to recur the discharge, affecting the environment.
On April 14, recorded by PV Lao Dong newspaper, the situation of wastewater flowing from the sandy area to the environment was overcome.
In the area of sedimentation tank No. 2, adjacent to the Cau River, it has been exploited by the land embankment to prevent wastewater from flowing directly into the environment.
As households with houses near the Cat Na Beach area, Ms. Tran Thi Son (Cho Moi) said that after the discharge from the sand was overcome, people in the area and downstream areas were somewhat more secure.
"For a few days, the river water has returned, people are also more assured. The muddy water is gone. We expect the authorities to continue monitoring, checking, avoiding the situation on the future in the future," Ms. Son shared.

Talking to PV, Mr. Ly Van Que - Vice Chairman of Thanh Thinh Commune People's Committee - said that up to now, two settling tanks in the exploitation area have been reinforced and re -processed. There is currently no more wastewater flow directly into Cau River.
The exploitation unit is also required to monitor regularly, when the tank is full, it must be proactive in suction, ensuring the water level is always under control, not to overflow into the environment.
Local authorities will continue to monitor and urge the implementation, to ensure exploitation activities do not affect the environment and people's lives.
The project of sand and gravel exploitation in Na Ve village was approved by the People's Committee of Bac Kan Province in 2017, implemented by Phuc Loc Co., Ltd. In April 2023, the project was transferred to Minh Bac Joint Stock Company.
After adjustment, the total investment capital is over VND 2.9 billion, exploiting 7,000m³ of sand, gravel/year, supplementing the artificial sand production line 2.140m³/year, the operation time is 2 years 2 months.
