On November 1, informing Lao Dong reporter, Mr. Doan Thanh Son - Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee said that since the beginning of the year, import and export activities through border gates in the province have been bustling, with a very large volume of goods.
According to statistics, the average is over 1,300 vehicles/day, on peak days it is up to 1,500 vehicles, equivalent to about 25,000-30,000 tons of goods/day. Of which, about 350-400 vehicles/day are exported, and about 900-1,000 vehicles/day are imported.
The total import-export turnover of all types of goods through the province reached about 52.9 billion USD, an increase of 20% over the same period in 2023.
"Of which, the turnover of goods declared at Lang Son Provincial Customs Department alone reached 4,477 million USD, an increase of 12.7% over the same period.
Total budget revenue from import-export activities reached nearly 6,000 billion VND, up 43% over the same period. The result of collecting fees for using infrastructure works at the border gate area reached 570.7 billion VND, up 9.4% over the same period" - informed the leader of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee.
Talking about the reason for achieving the above impressive figures, the leader of the Provincial People's Committee said that recently, the province has completed legal procedures to officially open customs clearance routes and specialized roads for transporting goods at the Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi Quan international border gate pair with Guangxi, China.
Including the dedicated road for transporting goods Tan Thanh - Po Chai (area of landmarks 1088/2-1089), the customs clearance Tan Thanh - Po Chai (area of landmarks 1090-1091), Coc Nam - Lung Nghiu (area of landmarks 1104-1105), thereby facilitating import and export activities of goods through the province.
Besides, the province always proactively maintains a daily information exchange mechanism with the Chinese side.
In particular, during peak times, the two sides agreed to extend the customs clearance time during the day and work through lunch. Daily information on the number of vehicles in each other's yards will be provided to jointly urge drivers and cargo owners on both sides to proactively complete import-export and immigration procedures.
Along with that is the management, traffic flow, improving the quality of parking services...
"In the coming time, the province will focus on directing the interdisciplinary working group to develop a plan to divide and regulate the means of transport for import and export of goods through each border gate in the province, always being prepared for situations where the volume of goods increases.
In addition, to increase exchanges with China, it is necessary to regulate import and export goods evenly through border gates, limiting the situation of goods being concentrated at one or two key border gates at the same time.
Digital transformation, optimizing inspection and control processes to shorten delivery time, strongly supporting import and export activities of goods across the border," informed the Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee.
