On the morning of September 17, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued a telegram ordering the Director of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company to close the remaining bottom spillway gate at 10:00 a.m. the same day.
Currently, the water flow to Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir is lower than the discharge flow. Accordingly, at 8:00 a.m. on September 17, the upstream water level of Tuyen Quang Reservoir was at 116.79 m, the flow to the reservoir reached 1,002 m3/s, and the discharge flow was 1,216 m3/s.
Previously, on September 9, due to the impact of storm No. 3, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant had to open all 8 bottom spillway gates. This was also the first time in nearly 20 years of operation that Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant had to open all bottom spillway gates.
