Fishing boat crew in Binh Dinh falls into the sea, missing

Binh Dinh - While fishing at sea, a crew member on a fishing boat of fishermen from Hoai Nhon town unfortunately fell into the sea and went missing.

On December 1, the Standing Office for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of Binh Dinh province said that the provincial Fisheries Department had notified ships operating at sea to assist in searching for a missing crew member at sea.

Previously, fishing boat BD 97026 TS, 19.5m long, 444CV capacity, owned by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung (residing in Hoai Huong ward, Hoai Nhon town), left port to fish for tuna. There were 13 crew members on board.

On November 29, while the ship was operating, crew member Nguyen Van L fell into the sea and went missing. Upon discovering the incident, fishing vessel BD 97026 TS and several other fishing vessels launched a search for crew member L.

"Through the VMS system, the provincial Fisheries Department has notified 5 fishing vessels operating near fishing vessel BD 97026 TS to come and assist in searching for the crew member in distress," informed the Standing Office for Disaster Prevention and Control of Binh Dinh province.
