Early operation of wharf No. 1
The My Thuy Port Area project, invested by My Thuy International Port Joint Stock Company (MTIP), has gone through many difficult stages, especially in site clearance (GPMB), and is currently entering an important construction phase.
The My Thuy Port Area project is not only a simple transport infrastructure project but also brings great economic development opportunities for Quang Tri province. When completed, My Thuy port will be able to receive ships with a tonnage of up to 100,000 DWT, increasing the operating capacity to 12 million tons/year in phase 1, with a total completion capacity of up to 30 million tons/year by 2036.

According to information from MTIP, as of the present time, the total cost paid for site clearance has reached 148.34 billion VND. The project has completed land lease and issuance of land use right certificates for 133.46 ha (phase 1). The conversion of forest use purposes and replacement forest planting has also been completed, an important step for the project to continue construction without legal obstacles.
In the days after the Lunar New Year, the project construction site is bustling with vehicles and workers urgently constructing items. Currently, phase 1 of the project is being implemented with main items, including the eastern breakwater, wharf, embankment behind wharves No. 1 and No. 2, dredging of the channel, turning basin, water area in front of the wharf, and construction of post-wharf technical infrastructure. The investor's goal is to complete wharves No. 1 and No. 2 by March 2026, and put wharf No. 1 into operation in April 2026.
Early removal of obstacles to ensure project completion on schedule
The My Thuy Port Area project not only creates great momentum for the sea transport industry but also opens up new potential for the logistics industry in the North Central region. With the efforts of the investor and timely support from all levels of government, the project is moving closer to the goal of becoming a key seaport of the region.

However, one of the difficulties that has not been removed is that currently 20.02ha of turning basin and 15ha of storage yard have not been cleared. Phase 2 of the Hai An Resettlement Area phase 2 and Hai An Resettlement Area phase 3 have not been implemented, so they do not meet the needs for resettlement land. The scope of site clearance for phases 2 and 3 of the project includes many churches, communal houses, pagodas, tombs, and the area of the people's cemetery within the project is about 10ha. In particular, construction and expansion of houses violating construction order are still continuing to occur in the project area.
Mr. Le Duc Tien, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, said that provincial leaders always closely monitor the construction progress and directly inspect the site to resolve arising difficulties and obstacles. On February 24, Quang Tri Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Phuong also came to inspect the project and requested functional agencies to continue to support the investor, especially in site clearance work.
