These days, according to records, construction units are speeding up the construction progress of the road leading to Dong Viet bridge (Bac Giang city).
The Dong Viet bridge project and the approach road to the bridge started construction in June 2022 with a total bridge length of more than 811 m, the bridge surface is 23.5 m wide.
The bridge was built across the Thuong River to connect Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces. This is the first and largest cable-stayed bridge in Bac Giang province.
The project has a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND from the provincial budget and local government bonds. The project is invested by the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic and Agricultural Works of Bac Giang province.
According to the project investor, up to now, the compensation and site clearance work for the entire agricultural land has been basically completed and handed over 7.7/8.0 km.
For the road section, the unit has constructed 4.0/7.725 km; constructed and installed 30/32 level crossings.
The construction unit has completed the following items: Abutments, bridge piers, bridge deck with 14/14 approach spans, median strip concrete, railing edges and installation of steel railings, installation of lighting columns, painting of T7 towers, completing asphalt concrete pavement and asphalt concrete pavement of the Hai Duong bridgehead, installation of expansion joints...
Currently, the construction unit is constructing the artistic lighting system.
It is expected that the road leading to Dong Viet bridge will be completed before April 30 this year to connect with Hai Duong province.
The completion of Dong Viet Bridge will help people travel conveniently, ensure safety, and at the same time, it is expected to promote the circulation of goods between Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces, develop tourism, and create conditions to attract investors to industrial parks and clusters in Bac Giang province.
Bac Giang is considered the industrial capital of the North with many large-scale industrial parks, and is the production base of many large economic groups around the world. Strengthening traffic connectivity will contribute to the socio-economic development of localities and the whole region.
