Thai Nguyen - The Bac Son extended road project is being accelerated, constructing many items on the route at the same time.

Started in 2018, the Bac Son extended road project has a total investment of 2,100 billion VND, more than 9km long, designed with 6 lanes, cross-section 61m wide. The project is invested by Xuan Truong construction enterprise in the form of PPP - BT contract.

According to the initial plan, the project would be completed by the end of 2019, then extended to reach the finish line in 2020, 2022. After many delays, in April 2025, the contractor restarted the project. Up to now, many items have been basically completed, and the shape of the trillion-dong road project is gradually revealed.

PV recorded on September 9, at the construction site, workers and machinery and equipment were mobilized to implement the project.

The area near the gate of Thai Nguyen University is fenced off one lane for sidewalk construction.

According to the Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Transport and Agricultural Works of Thai Nguyen province, the site clearance for the Bac Son extended road project has been basically completed, only hindered at 2 locations, including the Cao Trang intersection area, the branch road to DT. 267 and the section Km8+550 - Km8+570.

Regarding construction work, for the Km0+000 - Km3+500 section, the foundation and road surface items reached 95% of the volume; lighting system reached 96%; sidewalk paving and green trees reached 91%.

For the section Km3+500 - Km9+500, the roadbed and surface item reached 95% of the volume; lighting system reached 96%; sidewalk paving and green trees reached 93%.

Currently, the investor is deploying sidewalk foundation construction, completing Cao Trang intersection, installing a transformer station; and at the same time adjusting the design and completing some items of Suoi Da bridge.

Regarding the road, on September 7, Standing Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Linh requested the Project Management Board to review the entire design from the beginning to the end of the road, as a basis for proposing adjustments to some sidewalk locations suitable to actual conditions.

Difficulties and problems arising must be immediately reported to the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee for timely direction and resolution.

Dai Phuc Commune People's Committee ensures security and order at points where there is land for investors to carry out construction, contributing to ensuring project progress.

After completion, the project is expected to synchronize traffic infrastructure, promote socio-economic development. In particular, shorten the travel distance from the center of Thai Nguyen province to the Nui Coc lake area.
