Many energy projects are being implemented
In May 2026, the buoy and plastic product factory was started in Chieng Lao commune, with an investment capital of more than 317 billion VND, with a capacity of 758,000 products/year.
At the same time, the Son La Hydropower Reservoir Floating Solar Power Project was started, with an investment capital of about 17,000 billion VND, a capacity of 800MW, deployed on more than 1,200ha in Muong La and Chieng Lao communes.
According to the plan, the project will be implemented from the end of 2026 to 2030, expected to use more than 2,000 workers and supply about 1,250GWh of electricity per year.

For people in the area, the implementation of projects also poses additional job choices in the locality.
Mr. Ly A Vu, Chieng Lao commune, said that his wife and he are interested in job opportunities when the factory goes into operation.
Having work near home is convenient, and there is additional income for the family," Mr. Vu said.
Previously, in June 2026, the Risen Phu Yen Wind Power Plant Project was started in the Diet Pass area, bordering Muong Coi and Phu Yen communes.
The project has a capacity of 80MW, an investment capital of 2,941 billion VND, and is expected to be put into commercial operation in the third quarter of 2028, providing more than 250 million kWh of electricity per year.
During the construction phase, the project needs labor to serve construction, installation, and transportation. When operating, human resource needs are focused on technical, operation, maintenance and support services positions.
Factory in Mai Son Industrial Park preparing to go into operation
In Mai Son Industrial Park, Mavin Mai Son Animal Feed Production and Agricultural Product Processing Factory Complex has an investment capital of about 350 billion VND, an area of more than 109,000m2. The project includes an animal feed factory with a capacity of 200,000 tons/year and an agricultural product processing factory of 300,000 tons/year.
Mr. Pham Ha Nam, Deputy Director of Mavin Mai Son Co., Ltd., said that the enterprise is completing items and is expected to operate from November 2026.
When put into operation, the factory will recruit production labor and generate human resource needs in the stages of purchasing, transportation, and services.

Also at Mai Son Industrial Park, VFI Investment and Trading Production JSC proposed to expand VFI Son La Food Processing Plant.
The factory currently has an area of nearly 5,000m2, expected to expand by more than 7,800m2, raising the total area to about 12,800m2. After expansion, the expected output will increase by 200-300 tons of finished products/year, using about 2,000 tons of fresh agricultural products and creating 40-60 jobs.
Currently, workers at the factory mainly do production, machinery operation, and agricultural product processing jobs.
Recruitment demand depends on project progress
Mai Son Industrial Park currently has 10 valid projects, with about 48.9ha of land already leased out of a total of 63.7ha in phase I.
From 2024 to now, 5 new projects have been approved for investment policy, with a total capital of about 1,610 billion VND. Businesses in the IP are creating stable jobs for more than 300 local workers.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung, Head of the Provincial Industrial Parks Authority, said that some investors are interested in and proposing projects in Mai Son Industrial Park. The Authority coordinates to remove difficulties in land, site clearance, investment procedures and land funds.
According to Mr. Dung, the recruitment demand at projects will depend on the construction progress, operating time and production scale of each factory.

Projects are expected to need more workers in many positions such as production, engineering, operation, construction, transportation and supporting services, depending on the needs of each business.
