On May 26, according to information from the Vietnam Road Administration, the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 14E section Km15+270 - Km89+700 is being accelerated by units, but there are still some problems with site clearance that need to be resolved soon to ensure the goal of completion in 2026.
The project was approved by the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) in Decision No. 1070/QD-BGTVT dated August 4, 2022, with a total investment of more than 1,848 billion VND from the state budget.
The route is more than 71 km long, the starting point connecting National Highway 1 and the ending point connecting the Ho Chi Minh road, playing an important inter-regional traffic axis between the coastal plains and the western mountainous region of Quang Nam (now Da Nang City).
The investor is the Vietnam Road Administration, assigning the Central Road Project Management Board to directly manage and operate. The project has been implemented since March 2023.
According to the Vietnam Road Administration, to date, the construction output of the entire project has reached approximately 1,070/1,426 billion VND, equivalent to 75% of the contract value.
In which, 28/30 bridges on the route have been basically completed; roadbed, road surface and traffic safety systems are being accelerated.

However, site clearance is still a major "bottleneck". The locality has handed over about 70.38/71.38 km, reaching more than 98.5%, but there are still some locations that have not completed the relocation of technical infrastructure and some households have not handed over the site, causing local interruptions in construction.
Notably, the railway overpass area in Thang Binh commune still has unhanded over land, affecting the deployment of some service road items and auxiliary works. This is a location identified to be resolved thoroughly soon to avoid chain reaction affecting the progress of the entire route.
Faced with the above situation, the Vietnam Road Administration requests relevant localities to urgently complete compensation and site clearance work, ensuring complete handover before May 31, 2026.
At the same time, requesting the handling of existing issues related to land disputes, compensation unit prices, and land origin; in case of non-compliance, coercion will be carried out according to regulations.
At the same time, the Land Fund Development Center is assigned to accelerate the progress of approving plans, paying compensation and arranging resettlement, striving to complete all site clearance work no later than June 15, 2026.
According to the Vietnam Road Administration, contractors are mobilizing maximum manpower, machinery, and organizing overtime construction to compensate for progress. However, fluctuations in construction material prices, especially asphalt and gasoline, are still creating significant pressure on the construction of road surface items.
According to the adjusted plan, the project is extended to be completed until October 31, 2026. The investor sets a goal to basically complete the main items before the rainy season, in order to limit the impact of weather and soon put the project into operation, promoting the effectiveness of this strategic traffic route.
