After more than 2 years of construction, the water-up dam on the Lo River in Ha Giang City has entered the completion stage of the bridge arch span, one of the important items of the project.
Meanwhile, the foundation and body of the dam have been completed to a height of 105. In the coming time, construction will be carried out, with the installation of floodgates and equipment for lifting and lowering dams using a hydraulic cylinder system to regulate the water level of the Lo River.
It is currently the dry season, the low water level of the Lo River has created favorable conditions to speed up the project's progress. There are about 40 workers and many construction vehicles on duty at the project site.
According to the Ha Giang Province Construction Investment Project Management Board, the project's progress has been nearly 70%, striving to complete in 2025. The dam has been basically completed, and the arch bridge is currently under construction.
The dam project to create a landscape in the center of Ha Giang City started construction in February 2023 with a total investment of 330 billion VND. The project includes the construction of dams, management and operation bridges combined with traffic of more than 123 meters long, and approach roads at both ends of the bridge nearly 63 meters.
When completed, the project will help raise and maintain the water level of the Lo River. Climate regulation, ecological environment improvement, tourism development. The bridge on the dam will connect National Highway 2 with the southern beltway of the city.
In Cao Bang province, the dam on the Bang River through Cao Bang city with a total investment of more than 150 billion VND is also entering the completion stage.
Recorded at the end of March 2025, 3 out of 4 main pillars of the dam have been constructed, forming floodgates. The dam dam dam roof and related items are expected to be constructed in April. The construction volume of the project is currently over 80%.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen The Hoan - Chairman of Cao Bang City People's Committee - said: "The city has just had a direct meeting at the project site with all contractors to speed up the progress and ensure the quality of the project. Strive to complete the project on April 30 this year".
In addition to setting a goal of completing the project soon, Cao Bang city is continuing to develop a project to manage and exploit experiential tourism on the river after the dam is completed.
The dam on the Bang River through Cao Bang City was started in mid-2024. The project has a steel valve structure with about 3 compartments, which will help keep the water level stable for the Bang River, provide water for daily life, production and create a landscape for tourism development.
