These days, at the construction site along the Lo and Mien rivers in the northern central wards of Tuyen Quang, hundreds of workers and machinery and equipment are mobilized to implement disaster recovery and prevention projects.
In which, Tung Tao solid bridge (Ha Giang 2 ward) was built to replace the suspension bridge that was once swept away by floodwaters, connecting residential areas on both sides of the Mien River.


The project has a total investment of nearly 50 billion VND, started in March 2025, designed with reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete, 9m wide, more than 418m long.
The bridge pier under the riverbed is an item that is being focused on implementing before entering the unfavorable weather phase.
Currently, the construction unit is implementing 2 bridge pillars under the Mean River. This is an item directly affected by hydrological conditions and plays a decisive role in the project progress.
According to Mr. Hoang Huu Thanh - technical officer of Dong Bac - Tuyen Quang One Member Limited Liability Company, the unit is implementing appropriate technical solutions to complete this task in June.
The contractor strives to complete the entire project by the end of 2026 to serve the travel needs of people in the area.
Along with Tung Tao solid bridge, the item of Sustainability of the negative taluy on the right side of the road section from Km0+25.13 to Km0+382.76 belonging to the National Highway 2 Upgrade and Expansion project is also being implemented.
The project is from the contingency capital of the Green Urban Project - Ha Giang Sub-project with a project investment of 122.5 billion VND.
The length of the negative taluy line needs to be treated is over 357m with a 25MPa reinforced concrete wall on a pile foundation 12 - 20m long, 1m in diameter.
When completed, the contractor will restore the demolished road surface area to serve the construction of retaining walls and other technical infrastructure items according to the design documents of the National Highway 2 upgrade and expansion project.
According to PV's records, contractors are currently focusing on constructing parallel reinforced concrete bored piles to build retaining walls. The entire construction section is barricaded and warned to ensure safety for vehicles passing through.
The project strives to complete the foundation of the wall before the rainy and flood season. Ensure that rain and floods do not further affect the roadbed of National Highway 2 on the construction section.


Also in Ha Giang 1 ward, the landslide prevention embankment project behind residential area group 36 is entering the completion phase after many months of construction.
The project started in early 2026 with a total investment of nearly 19 billion VND, with the goal of protecting residential areas, technical infrastructure and riverside food streets.
At the construction site, the embankment body and the road at the top of the embankment are gradually being completed, many items have basically taken shape after the construction period.
To date, the project has completed about 80% of the workload and set a target to be completed before July 2026 according to the set plan.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh - Acting Director of the Project Management and Service Board of Ha Giang 1 Ward, units are focusing resources to complete the project on schedule.
When put into use, the project will contribute to protecting residential areas, technical infrastructure and minimizing damage caused by natural disasters and floods in the area.
