Previously, from information provided by veteran Le Huu Tong about the sandy area near Huong Thuy station where many martyrs' graves were buried since 1968, the Hue City Military Command directed Team 192 to coordinate with local authorities and witnesses to verify and organize searches.
On the afternoon of July 17, the task force exhumed 1 set of martyrs' remains. In recent days, Team 192 has continued to mobilize more manpower and machinery to expand the search area in this area.
At the scene, the Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee acknowledged and praised the sense of responsibility of officers and soldiers of Team 192 Repatriation in hot weather conditions. He emphasized that Hue City is implementing the "500-day and night campaign to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains", in which each source of information about martyrs is an important basis to bring heroic martyrs back to their homeland.
City leaders requested the Hue City Military Command to continue directing Team 192 to expand the search area, closely coordinate with localities and witnesses to verify information, and be determined to achieve the highest results in the work of repatriating martyrs' remains.
On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), the working delegation also presented gifts to encourage officers and soldiers of Team 192 Repatriation Team who are on duty.
