On January 21, at Hon Me Wildlife Rescue Station, An Giang Forest Protection Department coordinated with relevant units to organize the destruction of administrative violation exhibits that are forest animals of foreign origin (South American dragons).
The destruction session was attended by the Forest Animal Destruction Council, representatives of forest rangers, and local representatives. Functional units have fully prepared specialized vehicles and tools, and at the same time ensured that the destruction process took place safely, in accordance with legal regulations and without affecting the surrounding environment.
Previously, on October 30, 2025, the An Giang Provincial Forest Protection Department coordinated with a working delegation of the Forestry and Forest Protection Department and the Environmental Crime Prevention Police Department (C05) to inspect the house of Mr. Tran Hieu Em (resident of Thoai Son commune, An Giang province). Through inspection, it was discovered that Mr. Tran Hieu Em was raising 191 South American dragon individuals, but could not provide documents proving their origin. Mr. Hieu Em has violated regulations on the management, raising and trading of wild animals illegally.
An Giang Provincial Forest Protection Department appraised the animal species, determining that this is a South American calf and a spider-tailed calf of foreign origin, not distributed in nature in Vietnam.
Based on the assessment results, the Provincial Forest Protection Department established a Property Valuation Council, made a record of administrative violation against Mr. Tran Hieu Em and forced the destruction of all 191 South American dragon individuals.
An Giang Provincial Forest Protection Department recommends that organizations and individuals wishing to raise wild animals must have documents proving their legal origin and comply with legal procedures.
It's a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit.
