Test results of the Central Veterinary Diagnosis and Testing Center II (under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine) located in Dak Lak province showed that the pig sample was sick at the pig farm of Mr. Ng.V.Th (old Village 5, Loc Quang Commune) and tested positive for African swine fever virus.
Accordingly, on the morning of July 27, the People's Committee of Bao Lam 1 commune assigned the Economic Department to preside over and coordinate with the Agricultural Technical Station of Bao Loc area (Lam Dong Agricultural Extension Center) and Mr. Th's family to destroy the herd of pigs infected with African swine fever.
The local government coordinated with authorities and livestock farmers to dig holes deep into Mr. Th's family's farm to destroy all infected pigs. The burial pit is treated with lime powder, sprayed with disinfectants, and disinfected before being destroyed in accordance with regulations.

Mr. Trinh Van Thao, Chairman of Bao Lam 1 Commune People's Committee, said that the process of destroying pigs was implemented by local authorities and functional agencies to ensure strict compliance with regulations on disease prevention and control. Before, during and after destroying the infected pigs, the poisoning spray was sprayed, disinfecting the destroyed area, barns and surrounding areas to minimize the spread of the disease.
As previously reported, on the afternoon of July 24, the local government received a report from Mr. Th's family (old Village 5, Loc Quang Commune, now in Bao Lam 1 Commune) that 31/240 infected pigs had died, causing the family to worry. According to Mr. Th's report, the pigs died with symptoms such as high fever, loss of appetite, lethargy, shortness of breath, etc.
According to the report, Mr. Th's family's pigs have a total of 240 pigs, including 150 pigs, 80 pigs and 10 sows. In parallel with the destruction of infected pigs, the government and authorities also counted the total weight to report and propose support plans for Mr. Th's family to reduce damage and overcome difficulties caused by the epidemic.
It is estimated that the entire Bao Lam 1 commune currently has a herd of more than 10,000 pigs, mainly raised by individual households with a small-scale family farm and farm model.
According to Mr. Trinh Van Thao, since the afternoon of July 26, after receiving more than 1,000 doses of tricuspid vaccines (leprosy, anti-fertility, anti-zes centrifuge) and antiseptic drugs from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Lam Dong province, the locality has conducted a large-scale vaccination of the buffer zone for the pigs.
In particular, when detecting a herd of pigs with symptoms of infection, farmers must strictly follow the "4 no's" principle: Do not hide the epidemic; do not sell dead pigs; do not dump dead pigs haphazardly; do not arbitrarily slaughter dead pigs in any form to avoid the epidemic spreading widely. In case of detection, livestock farmers intentionally violate the "4 no's" principle, the authorities and competent authorities will strictly handle it according to regulations.
