On July 26, the leader of Bao Lam 1 Commune People's Committee confirmed that the local government had received a report from Mr. Th's family, residing in Bao Lam 1 Commune, about the family's pig herd of 240 pigs. Of which, 31 children were infected and died, making the family very worried.
According to Mr. Th's report, the pigs died with symptoms such as high fever, loss of appetite, lethargy, shortness of breath, etc.
Upon receiving the report, the People's Committee of Bao Lam 1 commune quickly directed the Economic Department to coordinate with the Agricultural Technical Station of Bao Loc area (under the Agricultural Extension Center of Lam Dong province) to be present to inspect and handle the matter.
Initial inspection results of the authorities show that the herd of 31 pigs with a total weight of 411kg of Mr. Th's family died of unknown causes.
The authorities have coordinated with Mr. Th's family to collect samples to send to the Veterinary Agency of Region 5 (Dak Lak province) for analysis and clarification of the cause of the pigs' deaths.
For the dead pigs, the local authorities have coordinated with authorities and livestock farming households to immediately destroy them in accordance with regulations on disease prevention in livestock.
At the same time, spraying and disinfecting barns and neighboring areas according to disease prevention regulations.
For the remaining pigs, local authorities and authorities continue to monitor and supervise.
Mr. Th's family is required to strictly comply with the "4 no's" principle including: Do not hide the epidemic; Do not sell or sell dead pigs; Do not dump dead pigs haphazardly and Do not arbitrarily slaughter dead pigs in any form.
