Previously, on the evening of May 23, the Working Group of Lao Cai Border Gate Customs, during a patrol and control of imported goods at Lao Cai International Border Gate, discovered 2.55 tons of sausages, workshop sausages, young poultry eggs... in the flower garden area of the quarantine area.
This is the amount of goods that some people have taken advantage of the policy of exchanging goods for border residents to transport from China to Vietnam.
These goods do not comply with customs procedures as prescribed, are goods not on the list of goods allowed for exchange by border residents and require animal quarantine when importing. The total value of the goods was more than 150 million VND.
Regarding anti-smuggling work, the Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document requesting agencies, units and localities to continue to be proactive in implementing the fight against and repelling smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights in the area.
The Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, sectors and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to mobilize businesses and people to actively and responsibly participate in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods to detect early, fight and prevent them right from the grassroots, from the starting point.
Requesting departments, branches, sectors and agencies, units and localities to step up the peak period of fighting to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods, promptly detecting and strictly handling violators.
At the same time, strictly handle cadres, civil servants, and officers who show irresponsibility, moral degradation, corruption, negativity, protection, and support for law violators.
