On June 3, the Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic Crimes, and Smuggling (C03 - Ministry of Public Security) issued a decision to prosecute the case of "Violating regulations on research, exploration, and exploitation of resources" and "Violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences", which occurred at ALMA Company and related units.
C03 temporarily detained Nguyen Anh Tuan (51 years old, also known as Tuan "Than Den") and 6 others for crimes related to illegal exploitation of natural resources and violating accounting regulations, causing serious damage to State assets.
Among the defendants, Nguyen Anh Tuan is a contributor of ALMA Company; Trinh Van Tuan is also a contributor of capital; Nguyen Xuan Long - former Director of ALMA Company; Nguyen Manh Cuong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Anh Vu Company. These defendants were prosecuted for the two above-mentioned crimes.
In addition, Luong Dinh Quan and Bui Thi Thuy - accountant of ALMA Company - were prosecuted for the crime of "Violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences"; Le Ngoc Tung - Director of the soil mine in Tuong Son commune, Nong Cong district - was prosecuted for the crime of "Violating regulations on resource exploitation". Defendant Bui Thi Thuy was released on bail.
After the case was prosecuted, according to Lao Dong, the land mine area in Tuong Son commune (Nong Cong district) has temporarily stopped operating. At the scene, there are many excavators but there is no longer the scene of excavating and transporting soil as before. All activities are almost "inactive".
People living near the quarry said that in recent days, there have been no more crowded trucks carrying soil as before.
