Previously, at around 6:00 p.m. on March 18, the NA 80-209-TS fishing boat captained by Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong was on its way to the channel when it sank.
At this time, on the boat, in addition to the captain, there were 3 fishermen, Tran Van Huu (born in 1995), Le Tuan Anh (born in 2005), all residing in Van Hai commune, Quynh Luu district and Bui Sy Nhat (born in 1977, residing in Thuan Long commune, Quynh Luu district). The location of the sunken ship was determined to be nearly 20 nautical miles from shore, about 5 nautical miles east of Mat Island.
