On March 25, representatives of Vietnam Ultra Trail Club (CLB) said that during the Son Tra Flower Festival, the Club coordinated with Ngoc Chien commune to organize off-road running activities in Nam Nghep village.
During the event organization, on the morning of March 22, an athlete voluntarily left the running track with another tourist. After that, the two lost contact while moving in the forest.
The two people who lost contact include Mr. Dang Van Hung (born 1998), residing in Hai Phong, who is an athlete who voluntarily left the running track, and Mr. Tran Binh Dinh (born 1979), residing in Nguyen Xien, Hanoi, who is an experienced tourist.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue (PCCC and CNCH) force of area 2, local authorities, support group of the Club, village management board and people urgently organized searches in complex mountainous terrain conditions, rainy and foggy weather.
During the search, Mr. Tran Binh Dinh found his way out on his own and was supported by people to bring him back to the village safely.
After that, Mr. Dinh provided information about the suspected location for the rescue force to continue searching for Mr. Dang Van Hung.
By noon on March 24, rescue forces discovered Mr. Hung in the deep forest area and took him out of the dangerous area. The victim's health was stable, with minor injuries.
Immediately after that, the medical force proceeded to examine, care for and monitor the health of the victim.
