After many days of active searching, the rescue and relief forces found the body of a victim swept away by floodwaters in Ngu Chi Son commune since August 26.

Accordingly, victim Ly A H (born in 1998, residing in Can Ho Mong village, Ngu Chi Son commune) was found in Sung Vui hydroelectric reservoir, Bat Xat commune at 9:15 p.m. on August 29. The location of the accident was about 8km from the accident site.

Currently, the victim's body has been handed over to his family for funeral arrangements.

Previously, from August 25, Lao Cai province experienced prolonged heavy rain due to the impact of storm No. 5.

At around 1:00 p.m. on August 26, the flood in Can Ho Mong village swept away two people, Mr. Vang A G (born in 1986, residing in Can Ho Mong village) and victim Ly A H.

Immediately after the incident, local authorities and people quickly organized a search.

Currently, the forces have mobilized up to 180 men to continue searching for the missing victim Ly A H.

According to a quick report from the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Lao Cai province, storm No. 5 in the area left 1 person missing, 3 people injured and 992 houses affected. To ensure safety, local authorities have urgently evacuated 549 households from dangerous areas.
