On December 17, at the Martyrs Cemetery of Huong Hoa district (Quang Tri province), a memorial service and burial ceremony for 11 martyrs' remains took place.
The ceremony was organized by Economic - Defense Group 337 (Military Region 4) in coordination with Steering Committee 515 of Quang Tri province.
Previously, from July 28 to December 17, 2024, the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team of Economic - Defense Group 337 discovered and collected 11 martyrs' remains in Hamlet 3B (Khe Sanh town, Huong Hoa district) and Ta Rung village (Huc commune, Huong Hoa district).
The remains were found under the soil at a depth of about 1m - 1.2m, wrapped intact in military tents and hammocks. Relics found with the martyrs' remains include buttons, shoe soles, sandal straps, parachute cloth, a bottle of yellow star balm, a leather wallet, a fountain pen, a switchblade and many other relics...
In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, the leaders of Quang Tri province, Economic - Defense Group 337, officers, soldiers and people offered flowers and incense to commemorate, express their infinite sorrow and remember the great contributions of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation, for the happiness of the people.
Immediately after the memorial service, the remains of 11 martyrs were buried at the Martyrs Cemetery of Huong Hoa district.
It is known that in 2024, the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team of Economic - Defense Group 337 searched for and recovered 23 sets of martyrs' remains in Huong Hoa district.
