The project connecting Nguyen Tat Thanh Street to Au Co Street was started at the end of 2022 with an investment capital of nearly 300 billion VND, invested by the Yen Bai Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board.
The 4.2km section is designed to have a 20m road surface, a 9m median strip, and a 10m wide corridor on both sides.
The project is undertaken by a joint venture of contractors Yen Bai Traffic Construction Joint Stock Company, Thanh Chung Construction Company Limited and Nam Phong Company Limited.
On June 27, according to Lao Dong, the project has been basically completed, and a system of trees, street lights, and signal signs has been installed. The road and sidewalk items have been completed.
At the construction site, machinery and many workers are urgently completing the final items to prepare for the opening ceremony.
Along both sides of the road, workers are busy paving sidewalks, curbs, pouring concrete for box culverts and cleaning the environment, preparing to decorate flags and flowers.
Mr. Dao Dinh Tung (Tan Thinh commune, Yen Bai city) said: "We are waiting for this project to be completed every day. The route will make traveling much more convenient and shorten travel time to the city center, not having to go around like before".
The Yen Bai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board also informed that up to now, the project has been basically completed.
It is expected that on the morning of June 29, a technical opening ceremony will be held for the road connecting Nguyen Tat Thanh Street to Au Co Street (Tan Thinh Commune, Yen Bai City).
"The project put into operation not only serves the needs of travel exchange and socio-economic development of the locality but also actively contributes to urban beautification, urban planning arrangement, creating a greener and cleaner Yen Bai city landscape," said a representative of the Yen Bai Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board.
According to research, the project to develop dynamic urban areas has been implemented in Yen Bai City since 2019 with a total investment of 63.27 million USD, equivalent to more than 1,423 billion VND.
Of which, the loan from the World Bank (WB) is 39.46 million USD, equivalent to 888 billion VND and the domestic counterpart capital is 23.81 million USD, equivalent to 535 billion VND.
The road connecting Au Co Street and Nguyen Tat Thanh Street is a project in the Yen Bai City sub-project.
