According to research, the approach road is an adjusted and supplemented item of the Lang Giang bridge project.
The approach road connecting to Lang Giang bridge was invested in construction and newly opened with a length of more than 1.2 km, worth 55.6 billion VND.
According to the design, the section from Lang Giang bridge to the railway overpass has a 25 m wide roadbed, 15 m road surface; the section from behind the railway overpass to the end of the route intersecting with Provincial Road 161 has a 33 m wide roadbed, 15 m road surface; the railway overpass consists of a 33 m long span, 19 m wide.

The approach road project is undertaken by the Joint Venture of Minh Duc General Construction Company Limited and Lao Cai Construction and Inspection Joint Stock Company. The project started on April 25, 2023, and is expected to be completed on December 25, 2023.
However, due to land clearance problems, it will not be until early 2025 that the asphalt pavement of the road will be completed.
On June 24, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper on this connecting road, near the resettlement area for households that had to be relocated to serve the project, dozens of meters of plastic roads have been dug up for rebuilding.
Through observation, at the foot of the road below the negative slope, the road rollers were mobilized to re-soak the roadbed. Around the repair area, signs and ropes are wrapped around to ensure traffic safety.

Mr. Ly Van Minh (residing in Muc village, Thai Nien commune, Bao Thang district) shared: "This road has just been paved with asphalt and has been damaged in many places, although it has not been accepted and handed over. Thanks to the press's reflection, the departments have stepped in to inspect and are repairing the road to ensure road quality".
Talking to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of the Lao Cai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said: "When there was a report, we had people check the cracks on the road. However, because the road has not been accepted and handed over, the contractor is repairing and rolling the roadbed to make it more secure".
According to the leader, the subsidence and cracking of the road surface connecting Lang Giang bridge with Provincial Road 161 may be due to many reasons. The unit will let the contractor handle it as soon as possible.

In early June, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Many cracks appear on the road connecting the hundred billion bridge in Lao Cai" reflecting that the road connecting through Thai Nien commune, Bao Thang district, although not yet handed over, has cracked the plastic road surface, causing people to worry about the quality of the project.
After the reflection, the authorities of Lao Cai province have conducted an inspection and are urgently repairing and overcoming the above situation.
