On the morning of September 23, in the capital Canberra, the Australian Medal of Honor award ceremony took place for citizens of this country who have made outstanding contributions in various fields and to the community.
Among them are Mr. Hoang Hieu Huy, 42 years old, from Ha Long, Quang Ninh province, a former student of Ha Long High School for the Gifted, a former student of Australian National University and currently the President of the Association of Vietnamese in Canberra.
Former Australian Governor-General Ms. Sam Mostyn has awarded the Australian Medal of Honor to individuals.
Mr. Hoang Hieu Huy was awarded the Australian Medal of Honor for his outstanding contributions and gifts to the community.
The Order of Australia Medal (OAM) is one of the noble titles awarded to a citizen in Australia, where the recipient of this medal will be given an OAM immediately after his/her name.
Sharing with Lao Dong before, Mr. Hoang Hieu Huy, also known by the affectionate name Hieu Huy "Harry" Hoang, said that he still does not believe it is true that he is on the list of honored because there are many individuals who have made very outstanding contributions to the community.

Mr. Hoang Hieu Huy studied abroad in Australia 20 years ago, at the Australian National University (ANU).
At first, he intended to stay for a few more years to learn more experience and then return home, but then he stayed until today. Currently, he, his wife (a Hai Phong resident) and 2 children are living in Canberra, Australia.
Notably, from a person who specializes in picking fruit for hire during his college and working for hire at a number of other companies in Canberra, after graduating, he opened an accounting company - Tailored Accounts Company - and by 2015, this company became one of the 100 best enterprises in Australia.
In 2018, Mr. Hoang Hieu Huy was awarded the title of "Executive Director of the Year" and the "Diversity and Inclusion" Award for businesses with the largest proportion of employees from many countries and territories.
His company always has a workforce from at least 10 countries and territories.
Not only that, over the years, he has actively participated in helping the community.
At first, he started with small things, such as: organizing free teaching for students, to supporting and guiding young entrepreneurs and social businesses. Later, he participated in the organizing and operating boards of volunteer groups and non-profit organizations to support the community; participated in organizing music events and sharing Vietnamese culture in Australia.
