On September 19, Ban Phuc L (born in 2017) and Ban Phuc Tr (born in 2020 - two brothers) in Nam Muoi village, Son Luong commune, together went to play at the gate of Nam Muoi Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities.
At that time, the school gate collapsed, crushing the two brothers to death.
After receiving the information, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province visited Nam Muoi village, Son Luong commune to visit, encourage, express condolences to the family and presented 50 million VND to support funeral expenses.
The death of the two children was so heartbreaking and heartbreaking. Death at school gates, a peaceful and safe place for children.
Why did the school gate collapse?
The only answer is due to poor construction quality, or the project has been built for too long and is deteriorating, but it cannot be demolished, rebuilt or renovated.
Even if the project is dilapidated and unsafe, the school still needs to consider responsibility.
Perhaps without money to repair the school gate, we should leave it to chance.
However, the deadly school gate collapse was not the first time.
In September 2020, the school gate collapsed at Ban Phung Kindergarten, Lao Cai, causing the tragic death of 3 children.
Also in September 2020, a group of students at Nam Loc Primary School, Nam Dan District, Nghe An were playing in front of the school gate when the wall collapsed, killing a 5th grade student.
Another incident occurred on December 30, 2020, 3 students invited each other to swing up a gate at Le Huu Trac Primary School (Dak Sin Commune, Dak R'Lap District, Dak Nong), the gate collapsed, killing a 4th grade student.
When the school gate fell, the pillar of the gate was discovered to be made of only bricks, not a single piece of iron.
That was the cause of the accident, not for rain or wind, not for old construction.
Many students have had their school gates collapse and died, and there will be many other cases, if there are still poor quality construction works.
After each school gate collapse that kills students, each locality has spoken out to review the quality of school works. However, accidents caused by school gates collapsing still occurred.
Focus on education, an important job is to build schools, so that schools can graduate and classes can graduate.
