On July 6, Dong Nai City People's Committee submitted a report to the City People's Council to agree on the policy of assigning the city as the managing agency to implement 3 projects (with 4 bridges) connecting Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City.

The bridge project across Ong Tiep canal connects D21 road (Bien Hoa ward, Dong Nai city) with DT. 747A road (Tan Uyen ward, Ho Chi Minh City), the bridge width is 42m synchronously with the planned cross-section width of D21 road and DT. 747A road, with 8 lanes.
The bridge project across Ong Tiep canal connects D30 road (Bien Hoa ward, Dong Nai city) with DT. 14 road (Tan Uyen ward, Ho Chi Minh City), the bridge width is 26m synchronously with the planned cross-section width of D30 road and DT. 14 road, with 4 lanes.
The project includes 2 bridges: Bridge No. 01 (beginning of LKV. 27 route) through Ong Tiep canal connecting LKV. 27 road (Bien Hoa ward, Dong Nai city) with D8 road (Tan Uyen ward, Ho Chi Minh City); Bridge No. 02 (end of LKV. 27 route) through Ong Tiep canal connecting LKV. 27 road (Bien Hoa ward, Dong Nai city) with D8 road (Tan Uyen ward, Ho Chi Minh City), bridge width 26m synchronously with the planned cross-section width of LKV. 27 and D8 road, with 4 lanes.
The projects all have investment capital from the Dong Nai City budget and are managed by the Dong Nai City People's Committee.
According to the People's Committee of Dong Nai City, investing in transportation projects connecting with two localities in the region is aimed at gradually completing the transportation system according to the Southeast region plan, improving transport capacity, strengthening connectivity with neighboring localities, serving the travel and transportation needs of goods and socio-economic development of localities. In which, transportation connection with Ho Chi Minh City will promote socio-economic development of Dong Nai city in particular and the Southeast region in general.
Previously, on March 31, 2026, the Regional Connection Working Group between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai City issued Notice No. 190/TB-TCT on the conclusion of the leaders of the two localities agreeing to assign Dong Nai City People's Committee as the managing agency to implement traffic connection projects between the two localities.
On June 10, 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also issued document No. 4956/UBND-DA on unifying the managing agency to implement projects connecting roads in Tan Khanh ward, Tan Dong Hiep ward, Ho Chi Minh City with roads in Bien Hoa ward, Dong Nai City; in which, unifying the Dong Nai City People's Committee as the managing agency to implement projects, including:
The bridge project connecting the Tan Ba market intersection road project (DT. 747A) with the D21 road project; The 2 bridges project connecting the D8 road and Inter-regional road construction investment project with the LKV. 27 road project; The bridge project connecting the main road DT. 14 project with the D30 road project.
