Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a decision approving the adjustment of the investment policy for the Kenh Ngang No. 3 bridge construction project (Luu Huu Phuoc street), Phu Dinh ward.
Compared to the initial plan, the project has been significantly expanded in scale. The total length of the route has increased from about 400 m to more than 634.5 m, of which the bridge section is 324.5 m long.
The bridge deck is 13 m to 15.5 m wide instead of 10.3 m as previously planned.
The preliminary total investment of the project increased from 350 billion VND to 597.689 billion VND.
Along with the adjustment of scale, investment goals are also updated according to the city's new development orientation.
If previously the project was aimed at completing the transportation planning to 2020, now it aims to meet the transportation needs of the region and gradually complete the Ho Chi Minh City General Plan to 2040, with a vision to 2060.
The project implementation time is also adjusted from the 2019 - 2021 period to the 2024 - 2028 period.

According to the plan, in the third quarter of 2026, the city will complete the adjustment of the zoning plan, related procedures and organize architectural design competitions.
From the third quarter of 2026 to the second quarter of 2027, compensation, support, site clearance will be implemented, and at the same time, project adjustments, designs, estimates and contractor selection will be prepared and approved.
The project is expected to start in the second quarter of 2027 and be completed and put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2028.
Kenh Ngang Bridge No. 3 is one of many transport infrastructure projects being implemented by Ho Chi Minh City to strengthen connectivity in the Southern city area.
Kenh Ngang Bridge No. 1 on Hoai Thanh street with a length of about 150 m and a width of 10.5 m.

Kenh Ngang Bridge No. 2 is about 345 m long, with a cross-section from 13 m to 15.5 m, connecting Hoai Thanh street with Luu Huu Phuoc street.
Ho Chi Minh City will also build a new Rach Cat bridge connecting An Duong Vuong street with Luu Huu Phuoc street. The project has a total length of more than 1 km, of which the main bridge is 261 m long, 14 m wide; the access road is 797 m long, 20 m to 28 m wide, with a total investment of about 1,165 billion VND.
