The most anticipated project is Binh Tien Bridge and Road, with a total investment of nearly VND6,300 billion from the state budget.
The project has a total length of about 3.66 km, designed entirely in the form of a overpass (elevated road), a road surface of 30 to 40 m wide, with a scale of 4 to 6 lanes.
In addition to the main route, the project also includes branches connecting to the routes below such as Tran Xuan Soan, Ton That Thuyet and Vo Van Kiet, helping to increase connectivity and flexibility for regional traffic.

The route starts from the Binh Tien - Pham Van Chi intersection (District 6), crosses Vo Van Kiet Avenue, Tau Hu Canal, Cay Sung Street, Doi Canal, Ta Quang Buu Street (District 8) and ends at Nguyen Van Linh Avenue (Binh Chanh District).
According to the plan, compensation, site clearance and resettlement will be implemented from the third quarter of 2025 to the third quarter of 2026. The project is expected to start construction in early 2026 and be completed in the third quarter of 2027.
When completed, Binh Tien Bridge and Road will not only solve the congestion in District 8 but also create a strategic traffic axis from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to the South, connecting key traffic routes such as National Highway 50, National Highway 1, Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway and Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3.
Besides Binh Tien Bridge and Road, Rach Cat Bridge is also an important project that District 8 residents expect to implement soon.
Currently, the end of Me Coc - Phu Dinh road (District 8) is using two temporary iron bridges: Rach Cat bridge (built before 1975) and Rach Cat 2 bridge (built in 2014). These two bridges have seriously degraded, often shaking and making a loud noise every time vehicles are traveling.

The project to build a new Rach Cat bridge was approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council in 2015 but has not yet been implemented. Currently, the project has been included in the priority plan for the period from now until 2030.
According to the design, the new Rach Cat bridge will start at An Duong Vuong street and end at Luu Huu Phuoc street, with a total length of more than 1 km. The main bridge is 261 m long, 14 m wide; the approach road is 797 m long, 20 m to 28 m wide.
The total investment capital is about 1,165 billion VND, of which the cost of site clearance accounts for more than 750 billion VND.

In addition to the two key projects above, three other bridges including Ngang Canal No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 are also prioritized by Ho Chi Minh City before 2030 to complete the traffic network of District 8.
Ngang Canal Bridge No. 1 is located on Hoai Thanh Street, 150 m long, 10.5 m wide, with a total investment of nearly 90 billion VND.
Ngang Canal Bridge No. 2 connects Hoai Thanh and Luu Huu Phuoc streets, 400 m long, 10.5 m wide, with a total capital of about 350 billion VND.
Ngang Canal Bridge No. 3 on Luu Huu Phuoc Street, 400 m long, 10.5 m wide, with a total investment of about 350 billion VND.
