Over 467 billion VND to support Ho Chi Minh City Police
At the 4th session on September 29, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council passed a resolution to support the Ho Chi Minh City Police with more than 467 billion VND to purchase equipment, professional equipment and repair of police headquarters in wards, communes, special zones and stations. This funding source is balanced from the 2025 budget estimate allocated to Ho Chi Minh City Police.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Council assigned the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to implement procurement in accordance with legal regulations, ensuring thrift, combating waste, corruption and improving the capacity to perform the duties of the city's police force.
Support for food for the Military Command
Also at the meeting, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council approved a policy to support food allowances for Commanders, Deputy Commanders and assistants of the Military Commands of communes, wards and special zones.
Commanders and assistants are supported with 100% of the daily basic food allowance and 12 holidays and Tet, according to the standards of non-commissioned officers and infantrymen in active service. In addition to the current regime, the deputy commander-in-chief is also supported with additional food expenses when performing regular tasks.
The funding source is arranged from the city budget. After the arrangement of administrative units, it is estimated that 672 cadres will benefit with a total budget of about 14.37 billion VND/year, down 8.9 billion VND/year compared to before.
This policy aims to improve the lives of grassroots military cadres, creating motivation to successfully complete local defense and military tasks.
Repealing the resolution to support lunch money in Binh Duong
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Council also lifted the resolution of the Binh Duong Provincial People's Council issued from December 2022 on supporting lunch money for cadres, civil servants, public employees and armed forces working at the Binh Duong Provincial Administrative Center. Previously, the support level was 880,000 VND/person/month.
Another important content approved is the resolution temporarily assigning 1,928 labor contract quotas to professional job positions in the education sector. This is the force serving public service units in group 4 - guaranteed by the State with regular expenditure.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, this allocation helps overcome the local shortage of teachers, while increasing flexibility in recruitment work.
The city will continue to promote decentralization of recruitment authority to public educational institutions under the Department of Education and Training and units at the commune, ward and special zone levels.
